Has anyone else a similar setup and maybe even recommend something? This should work, right? However, I am a BeatMaker 3 user and don't know, if Cubasis can record just the midi notes, in case at a later point he wants to change the piano sound afterwards (from a guitar player's point of view: reamping). Now, I am thinking of recommending him to connect his digital piano to the iPad via USB and his camera connection kit, then run a piano app of his liking into Cubasis and record in there.
He has an iRig, but I guess it will be useless for his goal, as he wishes to basically send MIDI into the iPad via the keyboard, then record it in a DAW and have a live (monitoring) piano sound over it all for him to hear, while he plays. A friend of mine has a digital piano, which he would like to use as a MIDI controller with his iPad. I have quite a specific question and hope yous can help me.
